Quick & Easy Lasagna Ingredients:

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcester sauce
  • 1 splash of red wine (optional)
  • 1 jar of your favorite pasta sauce
  • (15 oz) can of tomato sauce
  • 32 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 block of mozzarella cheese, shredded (about 2 cups)
  • 1 egg
  • A handful of fresh basil leaves, chopped (plus extra for garnish)
  • No-boil/oven-ready lasagna noodles
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • dash of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • dash of nutmeg

How to Make It – Step-by-Step

1. Make the Meat Sauce

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until soft.
Add ground beef and cook until browned. Season with Worcester sauce and a splash of red wine, salt, pepper and minced garlic.
Stir in the pasta sauce and half the can of tomato sauce. Simmer for 5–10 minutes. Add fresh basil. Remove from heat.

2. Prepare the Cheese Layer

In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with 1 cup shredded mozzarella, egg a dash of nutmeg.
Add a pinch of salt and mix well.

3. Build the Quick & Easy Lasagna

  • In a 9×13” baking dish, pour a thin layer of meat sauce to cover the bottom.
  • Lay 3 oven-ready noodles on top.
  • Spread half the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
  • Spoon a layer of meat sauce.
  • Repeat the layers: noodles, ricotta, meat sauce.
  • Finish with a final layer of noodles and the remaining sauce. Pour the rest of the tomato sauce over the top.
  • Sprinkle generously with the remaining cup of shredded mozzarella and fresh basil.

4. Bake and Serve

Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 5- 10 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
