It’s easy and delicious! It’s Monica’s marvelous marinara sauce! There is really nothing easier or better than this fresh recipe. You’ll never want to make pasta with store bought jar again.

There are only three ingredients in this recipe. If you feel extra fancy, you can make it your very own by adding some spices like garlic, basil, or fresh cream, ground Italian sausage, shrimp. It just depends on what you are craving. Monica’s marvelous marinara is the perfect base for any pasta!

Directions for Monica’s Marvelous Marinara

First start with a nice dutch oven, I love using my Le Creuset pan, it works amazingly with pretty much everything I cook these days. Make sure you have a quality wooden spoon so you don’t scratch your favorite pan.

Turn your pan on a low to medium heat and add in a half of a cube of organic butter.

Chop up a sweet yellow onion and add it to your pan.

Put on the lid and let it brown nicely for about 5 minutes.

Slowly add in a can of whole peeled tomatoes. I love using San Marzano brand tomatoes but you can certainly use your favorite or what you have on hand.

Let it simmer for about an hour with the lid on and pour yourself a glass of red wine and relax. Cheers, dinner is almost done!

Be sure to give your sauce a nice stir once in a while. Enjoy!

After an hour take off of the heat and set aside.

Start to boil some water for your favorite pasta.

Pour your simmered sauce into a blender. On a low setting, blend for about 30 seconds. Serve over your favorite al dente’ pasta. Sprinkle fresh parmesan cheese and a garnish of parsley or basil.

Serve and just wait for the compliments!

Every time I make this simply marvelous marinara, it’s gone in a flash! My 16 year old son just loves it. After seconds he’s asking for leftovers for lunch the next day. It’s definitely a keeper in my family. This week we were all sick with a cold so I kicked it up a notch with fresh chopped garlic and spicy red pepper flakes. It was so good! I think it really helped get rid of our colds faster.

Make sure to try this recipe and share with your friends, it’s to good not to share!
