My Chanel handbag obsession. It all started early on for me to be honest. Once I walked in my very first Chanel Boutique, the obsession began. I must admit my absolute favorite designer handbag brand is Chanel. Why Chanel you ask? I’m my opinion it’s the craftsmanship, the smell of the leather, the special feeling of importance of wearing it on your shoulder. Almost like you have made it in life. It’s a total feeling. Not many other brands can make you feel this way. Oh wait, I can name one more… Hermes, (yes we all know). The holy grail of all it bags. But that’s a whole other article.

As a 20 year old with not much money, I became obsessed with saving up for a pink Chanel bag. So much so I decided to start a small consignment business from home. I started selling my friends’ designer clothes and handbags. I worked really hard and was passionate about my new found job. I simply loved being around fashion.

I finally saved up enough to purchase my very first Chanel purse, although it wasn’t pink, it was very sparkly and that made it even more exciting to me. The “Hidden Sequin” classic medium size flap bag. I still have it now and it’s the favorite bag I own. I must have worn it to every evening occasion I went to. I definitely got the money out of it, and I still wear it today when I have a party to go to.

Still being obsessed with all things fashion, years later in 2013 this lead me to opening my very own brick and mortar consignment boutique. After a few years owning the boutique, and a scary robbery later, I decided to go back to selling online only. Eventually went on to work for TheRealReal (one of the world’s top consignment companies) as a “handbag expert”. I can easily say I know all designer handbags in and out after all the professional training on authentication and all things designer.
