It’s pie season! Who doesn’t love a slice of pie with fresh whipped cream? Making the perfect pie crust isn’t always easy. I’m glad to say I have mastered the pie crust! Here is a simple pie crust recipe you can use this holiday season and beyond, because made from scratch always tastes best.

I have tried many different recipes and this one is by far my favorite. This is a simple pie crust recipe made with olive oil. No shortening or butter needed which makes this a healthier option. Did I mention it tastes even better too? Try this simple recipe for the easiest pie crust ever.

This simple recipe makes a double crust. You can make two pies if you are making a pie without a top such as a pumpkin pie, chocolate cream pie ect. It’s perfect for one apple pie, cherry pie or even a chicken pot pie. What ever pie you decide to bake it will be the perfect crust!

Make a banana cream pie with this simple pie crust recipe! Again you only need one crust, so you can make two pies out of this recipe. One for you and one for a friend! Simply bake this crust for about 15 minutes on 350 degrees or until golden brown. Then pour in your pudding mix and top with homemade whipped cream and fresh sliced bananas. It’s so easy my 16 year old son baked one last night and it was delicious!

  • 2 2/3 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup olive oil extra virgin
  • 8 tbsp milk

Instructions

  • Mix the flour and salt in a mixing bowl.
    2. Cut the oil into the flour/salt mixture with a pastry cutter.
    3. Add the milk, and mix until it's all combined.
    4. Roll half the dough between sheets of wax paper (to avoid sticking to the rolling pin).
    5. Peel the top sheet of wax paper off the rolled dough and flip the crust over into the pan. Remove remaining sheet of wax paper.
    6. After you've filled your pie crust, repeat this rolling process for the other half of the dough.
    7. Seal edges of crusts and cut 1 inch slits on top.
    8. Bake as required, depending on the kind of pie your are baking.
TIP: For an olive oil crust its best to keep heat at 350 degrees or below. Cover edges to prevent burning.
